Action #28 of the National Plan for Digital Education requires that each educational institution has a digital animator and a digital team, made up of teachers and ATA staff. This initiative has ensured that these figures, crucial for the digital transition of Italian schools, were adequately trained, in order to be able to support colleagues in each school. The training actions concerned different areas of didactic and administrative practice, united by the common denominator of a correct and aware use of digital tools and related applications.
The main areas of intervention of the digital animators and teachers of the innovation team are:
1) INTERNAL TRAINING: they have to stimulate internal training in the school in the areas of the PNSD, through the organization of training workshops;
2) SCHOOL COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: they have to foster students’ participation in the organization of workshops and other activities on the themes of the PNSD, also through training sessions open to families and other local actors, for the realization of a shared digital culture;
3) CREATION OF INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS: they have to identifying methodological and technological solutions to be disseminated within the school environments consistent with the analysis of the needs of the school itself.
Also in the School Plan 4.0, adopted with Decree of the Ministry of Education 161/2022, the importance of the figures of the animator and the digital team in the system of accompaniment to digital innovation processes at school is reaffirmed.
